The historical center of the city is divided by the river Arno and the main places of interest are the Duomothe Uffizi Gallerythe Accademia Gallery which gardens of Italy book located on one side of the river, while the neighborhood known as Oltrarno is on the other side. The original fields and gardens were laid out behind Santa Felicita in the Oltrarno by the Borgolo family, the name from which Boboli is thought to derive, and were bought in by Messer Luca Pitti. Highlights include walking through the tunnel of wisteria, the Baroque stairs, six fountains with mosaic treatments and Villa Bardini.
